Independence: Gov Abubakar pardons 22 inmates in Bauchi

Gov Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State on Friday pardoned 22 inmates serving various jail terms in the state. Abubakar announced this in Bauchi in a broadcast to the people of the state as part of activities marking 56th independence anniversary of the country.

Police in Bangkok on Tuesday, September 27th, arrested two men reportedly from Niger, Laouari Hassane Babale and Awaisou Ibrahim, who were in possession of 215 ATM cards issued by Nigerian banks and Bt34,200 cash, Police Economic Crime Suppression Division Deputy Commanded Pol Colonel Papatdech Ketpan, said on Thursday in a press conference.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi nominated for UEFA Golden Boy award, become 1st Nigerians to ever be nominated

Super Eagles attackers Alex Iwobi (Arsenal FC) and Kelechi Iheanacho (Manchester City FC) have been nominated for the UEFA Golden Boy award, an award given to the best promising teenage talent in Europe, and by so doing the two players are the first Nigerian players in history to be nominated for the award following their breathtaking performances the last 12 months.   The  40-man shortlist for the Golden Boy also includes talented popular youngsters like Dele Alli, Marko Grujic, Lucas Hernandez, Kingsley Coman, Marcus Rashford, Moussa Dembele, Youri Tielemans, Leroy Sane, Renato Sanches, Ousmane Dembele and Gabriel Barbosa among others. Arsenal's Iwobi has made 17 league appearances and scored twice for the Gunners raking up a large amount of assists while Man City's Iheanacho has scored 10 Premier League goals from just 14 shots on target in 30 appearances.

Forces beyond me caused me to rape my eldest daughter- Father says

49 year old Anthony Ehumadu who raped his 15 year old daughter at their Oko-Oba home in Abule-Egba area of Lagos State, says he committed the abominable act under the influence of forces beyond him. Anthony, who aped his daughter who is in JSS 1 twice, said the first time he committed the crime, he was drunk but the second time, he acted by some powers beyond his control. While being paraded before newsmen at the Lagos state police command, Anthony said "I did the abominable act with my eldest daughter. But I only raped her twice. I don’t know what came over me. I am convinced that forces beyond me led me into committing the crime. Both incidents happened on Fridays. One Friday night, one of my friends invited me to a naming ceremony around Power Line, New Oko-Oba. I came back home drunk but my wife was not around. All my children, except the eldest, were asleep.
